"USB Human Interface Device" - conflict

Post by masterveecee »

(I searched the forum, but I don't think this issue is already reported...)

Connection situation:
- USB mouse connected
- USB keyboard connected
- Display with USB hub connected

When I connect all these USB-devices, I can see the following names in the SafelyRemove-program:
- USB Human Interface Device
- USB Compsite Device
- USB Human Interface Device

You see, when I would remove the "USB Human Interface Device" for example by command line("C:\Program Files\USB Safely Remove\usr" stop -n Human), I can't predict wich one will be disconnected...
Can I use something else in stead of the name "Human"? Maybe a device number? A USB-port?
Or is there another way to safe remove the 'interface'?

Tnx!

Note: changing the name isn't a possible solution...

Hi,

Currently the only way to distinguish devices is to change device name. In future we will add displaying of HardwareID (or PnPName) in usr.exe and ability to stop by this parameter. HardwareID is a unique device identifier.
