Safely Remove is the only process...

Sometimes when I stop a drive, I get the "cannot be stopped" dialog, and the only process listed is USB Safely Remove itself. Sometimes a forced stop will work, sometimes not. Is this a bug? What is the best way to respond to this message? Version is 4.2.4.845.

Thanks,
Jack

Hi,

It seems you have programs assigned to be launched before device stopping isn't it?

If yes, we have already known of this bug and we will fix it in the nearest version. Now you should stop the device using forced stop. If it doesn't help, just press "forced stop" button again and I think it will help you to stop the device.

Yeah, that could be it. I have one thumb drive that runs a simple CMD file when stopping. I'll have to see if that's the only drive that produces the issue.

Thanks,
Jack

We have fixed this problem in the latest version of the program: 4.2.5, can you try to download it and see if it works for you. Download it here: http://safelyremove.com/download.htm

Thanks! I'll install the latest version. I wanted to do a before and after test, but wouldn't you know it, on my home machine, could not duplicate the issue. I'll try it on my work machine on Monday.

Was able to duplicate the issue on my work machine 1 out of 3 tries. Updated to latest version, did not see the issue on 5 tries. So far so good.

Thanks!
