It is too easy to stop a device

I dislike the fact that just clicking on a device name can stop the device as I think it is dangerous and prone to error.

So while some people may be comfortable with that, I would like us both to have the choice. Can I suggest this:

An option in the configuration settings which has a standard tick box on/off like this:

Option:
[ ] Control+mouse click stops device
(Default is mouse-click only)

[x] Control+mouse click stops device
(Default is mouse-click only)

That way. some people could stop a device by clicking, while others (like me) would stop it by Control+clicking.

Also, when Control+click stops a device I would like to just press "Enter" to bring up the properties of the device rather than having to go to a menu.

Question for you, virgil21. Why complicate things for nothing when SIMPLE is what does the job? Point at the device, the USB stick or device that you want to stop, click on it, unplug it and end of story. Of course it's too easy to stop a device. That's the whole purpose of the Utility.

I've been using USB Safely Remove for several months now and never, not once have I had a problem. Windows is point and click, therefore Safely Remove is the same.

That's not a question - it's a patronising, scolding lecture in response to my stated user preference which I did not suggest should be imposed on you or anyone else. I merely asked for a choice . I have been using computers since the 1970s when I used to feed them punch cards and punched tape. I don't need any lessons from you on how to point and click nor on usability issues. So I stand by my point that there are dangers in the very simplicity with which a device can be stopped by this utility.
