Error When attempting to remove Portable Hard drive

Post by Midnight »

Well, I finally found a bug in USB Safely Remove and it's a dandy! When I attempt to remove my Seagate FreeAgent Go, I click on the Taskbar Icon and the Error Report shows up on my screen with my name already inserted and I cannot safely Remove the Portable hard drive. This has only happened since the last Update and never before.
I have to reboot, then remove the hard drive while Windows XP shuts down.

Just found out that this error affects ALL of my Flash sticks and not just the Seagate Portable drive.
I may have to install an older release of USB Safely Remove if this problem cannot be resolved.

I hope you have a fix for this. Thanks in advance! :D

Amazing! I posted this problem on June 18th and 8 days later, no one has posted a solution. Has everybody at USB safely Remove gone on vacation?

Hello, Midnight.

Sorry for the long reply. You are right - summer is a vacation time.

Could you please send us bug report again by using "Help - Report a bug...". In the "comments" field place the link to this forum thread.

Error When attempting to remove Portable Hard drive

Since it took so long for a reply and I understand the reason why, I have since uninstalled the latest version (4.1 Final) and gone back to Version 4.0.9.779. This version runs 100%.
The problems were affecting all my USB portable drives and I had no choice but to delete 4.1 Final.

Error When attempting to remove Portable Hard drive

Hi guys,

My portable hard drive is getting full and I need a new one. I currently use a 320Gig Freecom tough drive. It looks like these are only available in up to 500Gig.

Has anybody found a bargain recently? Ideally Id like a 1TB one.
