Today we are happy to announce a new beta-version of USB Safely Remove 4.2! In the new version we have invested heavily in UI improvements, stability and Windows 7 compatibility.
What's new in this version?
Improvements
- Better stopping menu user interface
- Feature to tie a drive letter to the device
- Displaying taskbar button for the most windows
- Feature to run "Scan for hardware changes" from the menu
- Feature to stop all visible on the menu devices at once
- Full support of Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit)
Bug fix
- The program seriously slowed down Windows XP 64 bit system startup
- Fixed some bugs of autorun feature
- PNG images were loosing alpha-channel when were loaded as device images
- Also some other minor bugs were fixed

We have just uploaded new beta version of the program: 4.2 beta 2 which contains some bug-fixes related to version 4.2 beta 1:
* Program might display virtual drive devices
* Global autorun setting up didn't work
* 'Stop all devices' feature sometimes worked incorrectly

nice however on my IBM notebook it does not recognize the internal DVD as a drive (it is a usb device). I like the GUI and the close all feature.

Has the new version been tested to allow return from S3 Sleep in all currently-supported Windows versions? The previous version was tested only with Vista, according to forum comment on the bug.

Exelent work on the W7 X64, but failed to return device back... is there like a trick or something?.
And sorry for my ignorance, but in the previous version the program turn my device off complete, but now it's just stop it from reading, is that because of the device back feature or just a bug??

Thank you for your report! We haven't changed anything in "return device back" functionality so that seems like not a new bug. Can you explain a bit detailed what does mean "turn device off complete" and what is "stop from reading"?

On the 4.1 version (Used on WinXP) my pendrive used to turn the lights off, wich I interpret as turn it off, but when upgrading to W7, lights were still on, but safe to remove.
At me the "return device
At me the "return device back" works well.
Tried with 3 pendrives and a WD passport USB HDD.
I prefer the old stopping
