Device disabling is an ability to permanently stop a device. It's
the same as preparing to safe removal but the device will remain disabled
even if you reboot the PC or eject and connect the device again. It's a cool
feature since it allow you to do many things:
- Prevent malware to access your backup drive
- Save power when you do not use your device (see also Power off USB devices on stopping)
- Temporarily get currently unneed drive out of sight
How to disable a device?
Just right click to the device and choose the "Disable device" menu item:
If the device is locked by a process the program will show you
the "Unable to stop" dialog and allows

When you need to activate the device just click it and it will be returned
