It is a much better idea to put this surplus information into a secondary download. You should offer two downloads. One with english, offering to download additional languages remotely during install, and a second tagged multilang. Help files for many languages is a waste of time/bw for all people I...

Looks like that option will probably work (don't have time to test right now), but would be nice for it to detect it is U3 automatically. U3 is quite common on new flash drives, specifically sandisk/lexar.

u3 detected as 'card reader'

The detection routines for card readers should learn to detect U3 devices (often containing u3 in their device name). U3 devices are flash drives which contain a standard fat/fat32 partition, as well as a virtual cd rom interface. Because the flash drive has two 'devices' according to windows, usbsr...

This time specifically I had just purchased the drive, formatted it fresh, then copied a large amount of data (450GB) to it from the drive it will be replacing. I didn't use any special program to do it. Just explorer. The fact there were so many files, or it took so long might have something to do ...

transactional ntfs + sata + safe removal

I noticed today that sometimes sata drives refuse to remove both through usbsafelyremove as well as device manager. By using procexplorer I found out why. I'm still researching, but due to vista being kindof new I have not found out how to fix it. During one of these attempts the following handles w...

Not really a programmer, mostly because I rarely take the time to finish a programming project... but I have learned most the basics of a few languages, and do some pretty advanced bash/tcl/bat scripts from time to time :)

I'll let you know when I get a few minutes to test it out.

Oops on the "started crashing" part...musta been tired. :) Yes, when I said eject I meant the stop (disable) routine in the program. I will also mean the disable routine throughout this post when I say eject. I will try to describe what I did that time to reproduce it, but I only had it ha...

After the program stopped crashing (thanks igor) I was able to test if the device stopping worked on "unsupported" sata devices. When I told them to stop, the window popped up saying "trying to stop USB Devices" (that should probably say "Trying to stop Device(s)" ... s...

With a positive reply from LNH, maybe i'll try it again in the next couple days.

LNH, out of curiosity, are you on vista? I couldn't hardly navigate the program, let alone actually use it.

This beta seems to have a lot of unrelated bugs, I was not able to get it to run long enough to try it out. However I did submit a couple bugreports. It didn't crash, but it continually pops up with the bugreporter, and it's near impossible to do anything for now.

thank you greatly for the quick response. This feature is really the only thing holding me back from purchasing this software. Until these drives are supported, the program (for me) does little more than adding eyecandy to an application that works perfectly. The only thing it really adds (besides r...

I posted the original request for this feature quite a few months back, would like to be a beta tester on any related feature. In the more recent betas, it is possible to LIST the drives in usbsafelyremove but not stop them, the error above is shown, about files being in use... here is my log 01.06....

please look at these screenshots they have comments. the only way that i am able to hotswap (yes, this is recommended by siI as the preferred/only method) this 320 drive, is to right click it in device manager, and click uninstall. The drive spins down, and i can safely remove it from my hotswap bay...
