Re: Safely Remove not removing system tray version

Hi CWBillow,
I apologize for a delay with the response.

Can you try the version 6.0, you can find it here: https://safelyremove.com/allVersions.htm . Will it hide the native icon?

Hi ronaldscact,
What version of USB Safely Remove you are using (to see it, right click to the program icon in the system tray, choose Help -> About program)? What certain command you use for return?

Re: Will USB Safely Remove still have any benefit after Win 10 update?

Hi caribous2 , Actually Microsoft just changed the default policy for device removal, earlier that was Better performance now it's Quick removal. You were able to change this policy earlier by yourself and you can change it now if you need. But that doesn't mean there's no need in safe removal. In c...

Re: Weird USB issues

Hello Arvindmundhe,
I'm sorry but here we cannot help you with these issues, we can only assist in questions\issues related to our software USB Safely Remove. Maybe it'd be better to address your issue to GPD Pocket support or ask on SuperUser forum.

Re: Command line force stop

Max.A, Initially you've asked about forced stop. Forced return may not work in this version under some circumstances: when you have two or more drives connected to the same USB hub (we call these drives as "neighbor devices"). I'll try to explain what caused the issue and how to workaround it. Suppo...

Hi Max,
Both commands are actual for the command line tool. It seems the online manual is outdated. I've just fixed it and added description for both of the commands. Many thanks for your attention!

Re: Is that's normal that USR reinitialize all USB devices .

Hi Max.A,
I'm terribly sorry for so long response, I've missed your question here.

Yes, it's normal, since in order to reactivate the device we restart the whole USB hub where it's connected to. In the following version we will likely implement an option to stop and return it without the hub restart.

Re: Physical Removal Necessary?

Hi JohnC998, In theory a malicious software can access your drive's content even when it's safely removed or disabled. First it can return it back the same way as our software does (by restarting the USB hub). But it's not easy since when the device is safely removed there's no way to know it was a ...
