Re: Multi-partitioned HDD, safely remove

What you describe makes no sense to me. If you click on the drive symbol to the left all 'partitions' are ejected. IMHO it is not possible to eject only one partition - always the whole drive. Did you ever try this?

Re: BadUSB devices

Update: the first anti virus software with BadUSB protection has been released:

I still would prefer this to be handled by USR.

Control Write Access to Removable Devices or Media

Hello, these days security has a much higher value and is more looked after than ever before. The BadUSB devices are just one example (see the other thread). Regarding simple personal security I was looking for a way to close my USB ports to prevent others from stealing data. In fact that is quite s...

Thanks for adding this feature in the future!

The icon - well, once you get past 50 years you will understand that small things like this are easily overlooked

BadUSB devices

Hello Igor, since the demonstration and demo of BadUSB devices, which take over your computer unnoticed by coming as USB thumbdrive with internal USB keyboard, I wondered if it isn't quite easy to fix this potential threat for USR users: Adding an option that every time a USB keyboard is detected a ...

Re: System clock resolution 1ms

Hello Igor, thanks for replying quickly and giving out all the details. Much appreciated! Question: when will the update of USR be available? This being a minor update I fear it will not be easy to find out as you no longer openly communicate the versions and updates of USR. I dare to say that becau...

Re: System clock resolution 1ms

I can confirm this finding. As soon as USR is started and sitting in the dock (doing nothing...) the timer is changed to 1 ms. That should indeed not be necessary. And just in case you missed why this topic suddenly comes up: http://www.forbes.com/sites/ianmorris/2014/07/14/googles-chrome-web-browse...

Re: External HDD will not release

You did not read this forum nor Googled that string. It's a problem caused by MS. See for example here:

Offtopic: LockHunter

I stumbled over a strange file in my Windows\system32 directory, with chinese letters, about 100 MB, and no read or delete access. Like many others I got alarmed and thought about some virus. What was frustrating was that I could not even fnd out what it does or where it belongs. I used Unlocker 1.9...

Your problems are fully hardware related (quite obvious). Nothing USBSR could change.

USB Safely Remove 5.1 was tested and it's working fine on Windows 8, except some minor graphical issues. The next version will come within a month and will contain a full support of Windows 8.
Very good news!

Nice to see you are still around! I was referring to this topic http://safelyremove.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1054 which had beren ignored by you/the others in the last 12 months. I had severe problems a month ago when I tried to update my computer with USB 3 cards, so I gave up and sent the...
